Carpathia FC v. Ole Soccer SC:
After a late night win and a short rest, Carpathia FC would travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to play their last game of the 2016 season. On a hot Sunday afternoon they would match up against a team who’s record doesn’t due justice to the quality of the club. Carpathia would come out in full force as they looked to earn all six points on the final weekend. The hot weather and long grass wouldn’t stop CFC from applying pressure and shooting from all parts of the field. Ole SC’s goalie would make 5 great saves in the first half to keep the game scoreless going into half time. Head Coach Bruce Wilden would make some tactical switches at half where he found the Ole defense vulnerable. This change would pay off huge as minutes into the second half, Levock would be taken down in the box after beating two defenders on the left side flank. He would be rewarded with the penalty shot and convert it to give Carpathia the 1-0 lead. Carpathia still kept the pressure on and hitting the cross bar minutes after. Ole would get its chance after a very controversial penalty shot was awarded to the home side. They would convert making the game 1-1. 10 minutes remained in the game and finally Carpathia got it’s go ahead goal that would prove to be the final. Carpathia’s Ryan William’s would beat the goalie with a perfectly placed two poked ball from 20 yards out.
Carpathia would end the year finishing third at 6-1-3.
