Last Minute Goal Ties Toledo with Carpathia

The night began late as Toledo United FC was stuck in traffic and unable to make it to the field for the 7:30pm start time. The game finally kicked off at 7:45pm with both teams coming ready to play.

It was just 13 minutes into the game when Toledo United FC would utilize what they had and score. The ball went off the foot of a Carpathia FC player for a Toledo corner kick. Toledo converted their chance and were leading 1-0 early in the game. Shortly after, Toledo had another chance off a corner but were unable to produce. Then, exactly 10 minutes after Toledo’s goal, Carpathia evened up the score. Laird crossed the ball to Helmrich who put it in the back of the net. The score was tied 1-1. The first half ended with a narrowly missed chance by Carpathia. Williams crossed the ball to Tinnion but he just missed the goal as the Toledo goalkeeper made himself big in the net. The first half ended Carpathia FC 1 – 1 Toledo United FC.

The second half began with a bang as just 5 minutes in, a Toledo player was issued a red card. Following some disagreements, the Toledo coach was also dismissed by the referee. Messer made a few great saves but was also able to watch a few shots sail way over that resulted in a few field goals for Toledo. Later in the half, a Toledo player received a yellow card for a reckless tackle. Carpathia refused to settle in the 79th minute as Catalano takes the ball and passes it into the net as he is tripped by the goalkeeper. Carpathia FC was now leading Toledo Untied FC 2-1. The game continued to go back and forth between the two teams. It was in added time that Toledo would even the score. Toledo tied the game. The Toledo goal scorer was then issued a yellow card for removing his jersey. Less than a minute later, the referee blew the final whistle. The game ended in a tie: Carpathia FC 2 – 2 Toledo United FC.

The next game for Carpathia FC will be a rematch against Toledo United FC at Toledo on July 9 at 7:30pm.
