It was a hot summer night in Chicago on Saturday June 25th as Aurora Borealis SC was hosting Carpathia FC for their final meeting of the PLA regular season. The hot weather did not affect the high paced game as we were underway in Chicago. Carpathia’s Joey Tinnon would open the scoring for the game by calmly chipping the ball over the goal keeper in what would be a fantastic goal. Minutes after, Tinnion would again net another by placing the ball passed the keeper and giving Carpathia a 2-0 lead. Minutes before half time, Aurora would strike back with a precise toe poke from that top of the 18 yard box that would end up in the bottom corner and making it 2-1 entering half time.
Aurora would make some tactical changes and came out strong in the second half. Both teams would have chances early on in the half but neither could find a goal. 15 minutes into the second half, Aurora made another tactical switch and this one would pay off. Chris Freeman would hit a 30 yard strike finding the top corner and making the game 2-2 with 30 minutes left. Both teams kept the pressure up with each wanting the 3 points. It would be Carpathia’s John DeLeon who would give Carpathia the lead finding the top corner with his left foot. This would end up being the game winner and giving Carpathia FC all 3 points.
