Carpathia FC Narrowly Loses to RWB Adria

It was the game of the season for both teams. Going in to the weekend, Carpathia F.C. and RWB Adria were tied in points as leaders of the PLA East. RWB Adria was just ahead of Carpathia F.C. because of its greater goal differential.

It was a hot day Saturday as Carpathia F.C. and RWB Adria took the field at the Carpathia Club. Just nine minutes into the game, Carpathia got its first shot on goal, but it was saved by the RWB Adria goalkeeper. Carpathia F.C. had just a few shots on goal during the first half while RWB Adria had multiple shots that hit off the postsand crossbar. Throughout the first half, Scott Messer had multiple great saves to keep Carpathia in the game. This resulted in the half ending with no score.tinnie 2

The second half began with Williams taking a shot that went wide just five minutes in. Two minutes later,Allan was subbed out as he walked off with an injury. It was in the sixty-second minute that RWB Adria was able to put the ball in the back of the net, making the score 1-0 as RWB Adria was now leading. Shortly following the goal, Giorgi also came off with an injury. Throughout the latter part of the second half, Carpathia seemed to control the game more. In the last few minutes of the game, Carpathia kept the ball down in RWB Adria’s end of the field but were unable to score. Throughout the game, the referee gave out multiple yellow cards to both teams. With the final whistle blown, Carpathia F.C. lost 1-0 to RWB Adria.

Carpathia F.C. will be back in action against Aurora Borealis at 7pm on Saturday, June 25 in Illinois. The last match with these two teams was a close one with Carpathia F.C. edging out Aurora Borealis to win 2-1.
