Carpathia Beats Oakland 3-0

It was an exciting day as Carpathia FC hosted Oakland County FC for CFC’s final home game of the 2017 season. Having a 3-1 home record, CFC looked to improve to 4-1. It wouldn’t take long into the game for CFC to get on the score board. A ball was played in to Carpathia’s Joey Tinnion, forcing the goal keeper to come off his line and make a tough decision. A brilliant first touch forced the goalie to tackle Tinnion and resulted in a straight red card and a penalty shot. Keaton Levock would step up and capitalize and make the score 1-0, 25 minutes into the game. With Carpathia playing 1 man up, many chances were created but couldn’t finish. “I really like how we possessed the ball and took Oakland out of the game. We were the dominant  team and created plenty of chances that we need to finish” stated Assistant Coach Marcel Schmid. CFC went into half time leading 1-0.

The second half was underway and CFC continued their dominance. Billy Werthman played a dangerous ball into the box that forced the Oakland County’s center back to attempt to clear it and resulted in him putting it into the back of the net. Minutes later substitute Michelle Lipari would play a perfectly placed ball behind OCFC’s back line for Tinnion to take a touch and smash it into the back of the net. CFC would take a commanding 3-0 lead with 10 minutes left to play. The final whistle blew and CFC would go on to win 3-0 and improve their home record to 4-1.

CFC’s next match is Saturday, July 8th at Toledo Villa FC. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00 PM
