Carpathia Beats Adria 2-0

It was a great day to be at the Carpathia Club when Carpathia FC defeated RWB Adria 2-0. The live German music was playing in the background and the fresh barbecue smell lingered threw out the grounds as the start of the match began.

Similar to when Carpathia traveled to Chicago, CFC took a one goal advantage early into the game when striker Joey Tinnion applied pressure to Adria’s center back, taking the ball from him and placing it into the bottom right corner. Carpathia would hold a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game. At the 30th minute Carpathia would strike again and it would be a perfectly placed ball by Dylan Dorley to once again Joey Tinnion who would break in on goal and finish it top corner. Carpathia would go into half with a 2-0 lead. The first five minutes of the second half proved  to be vital for CFC. Assistant Coach Marcel Schmid stated   ” We had a identical scenario when we were away at Adria. We knew they would be coming out second half strong looking for one goal to get them back into things. We did everything in our power to keep them out of the game and clear any chances that they had”. Carpathia would defend relentlessly and created counter attacks that forced Adria’s goal keeper to make great saves.  Adria kept applying the pressure but it was the team work and dedication that helped Scott Messer keep the clean sheet and Carpathia take all three points. “We had a game plan and executed it perfectly. It was a great team win and something to build on as we now focus on travelling to Muskegon” stated Head Coach Bruce Wilden.

Carpathia FC will be on the road this Saturday June 24th as they travel to Muskegon to take on a tough Muskegon Risers side.
