Carpathia Wins Second Home Game

It was a beautiful day in Auburn Hills where Carpathia FC hosted Grand Rapids Ole SC. With the thunderstorm forecast passing, the game began in sun shinning conditions. Carpathia FC had just come off the Donauschwaben victory and had their focus back on the 2017 PLA season. Not knowing much about the Ole team, CFC stuck with the same game plan. It would seem to pay off but would take some time to do so. Carpathia moved the ball well and created many scoring opportunities but it would take 50 minutes into the second half when Ryan Williams would dribble pass the defenders before executing a perfectly passed ball to Kazuya Odawara where he would slot it home passed the keeper. CFC would begin to keep the pressure up searching for the second goal. It wouldn’t take long. Once again William’s took the ball on at a defender and struck the ball that would hit the defenders arm and result in a penalty shot. Dane Laird would step up to take it where he would place it in the top right corner.

We had the opportunity to meet with Head Coach Bruce Wilden after the match: “I thought that we did a really good job moving the ball wide and creating chances. We were able to use the weather to our advantage and make them chase. We are pleased with the result but now have Wednesday’s game to focus on”.

Carpathia FC hosts Toledo Villa FC, Wednesday night at Avondale High School. Kick off is set forĀ 7:30 PM
